What to Wear to Work: Chic Spring Looks

May 11, 2014

Spring is here! With longer days and warmer breezes, many of us are looking for ways to be creative with our nine to five work style routine. From chiffon tops to ballerina pumps, the urge to be bright and chic is in full swing.

Revamp your pencil skirt

Spruce up your pencil skirt by adding some ruffles to it. Whether they’re gathered around the waist or at the hemline, the frills together with the structured body makes the pencil skirt ultra-flattering for women with all body shapes. Top off your look with a pair of killer heels and a sheer blouse.

Add a touch of pastels

While pastel shades may not be your first choice for your work wear, don’t write them off completely. From minty-green to blush pink, you’ll be amazed to see how these delicate colours can brighten up your blacks and greys. Add some lustrous pearls to your attire to create a polished yet feminine look.

Embrace the wide-leg trousers

Stash your skinnies, ladies. This season is all about adding a bit more drama to your working closet with wide-leg trousers. They are super flattering and incredibly comfortable for office wear. Pair them with peep toe shoes for a sophisticated look!

Update your jewellery and accessories

Avoid excessive accessories and jewellery that is overly sparkly when you dress for work. But it doesn’t mean you have to look boring. Depending on the nature of work you’re doing and the environment you’re in, choose a couple of jewellery pieces that can be worn either every day or to a client meeting. Classic pearl stud earrings are probably the most go-to staple for most professions. A pearl necklace in pastel shades can add a touch of elegance to your outfit. Remember, less is more. Keep your jewellery simple by wearing one or two pieces at a time. Create a statement look by incorporating some eye-catching designs of gold and silver jewellery. Intriguing pearl shapes and exotic colours such as our freshwater baroque pearl bracelets and Tahitian black pearl pendants are the perfect accessories for your chic spring look!
